Review of the Treo 700W Microsoft Windows Mobile based Palm Treo

It is called a SmartPhone. It is indeed smart maybe the smartest cellular phone ever made. Previous to the Treo 700W the Treo 650 was already packed with features. Adding the Microsoft Windows Mobile OS to the Treo has improved its features and usability. The Treo 700W is jam packed with useful features such as the amazing Today screen that delivers current information and one click access to key Treo features, ability to synch your email and calendar over the air, Word, Excel and PowerPoint document editing, a 1.3 Megapixel camera, broadband download and more.

We will review and explain briefly about its features of the Treo 700W along with its pros and cons. We will start with its main features such as broadbank-like speed, wireless email, web access, thumbable QWERTY keyboard and plays rich digital multimedia.

Under the hood, the Treo 700W is powered by Intel 312Mhz processor, 128MB memory, 240x240 color touch-screen LCD. It connects to 1800/1900 CDMA cellular signals. It also has bluetooth wireless connectivity. Treo 700W also has a 1.3 megapixels digital camera supporting up to 1024x1280 resolution and 2X zoom.

PROS: Some of the best features of Treo 700W are:
- Internal CDMA broadband support right out-of-the-box
- Has QWERTY keyboard layout
- Decent digital camera with 1.3 MP
- SD card expansion slot
- works with many popular CDMA celluar phone provider (may need to be unlocked)

CONS: Missing and bad features of the Treo 700W are:
- No built-in Wi-Fi or wireless connection capability (need SD wifi card)
- QWERTY keyboard is too small
- Battery power, talk time and stand-by time is less than normal phone.
- Display is not as good as competitor BlackBerry.

Overall the Treo 700W is an improvement to its already very popular sibling the Treo 650. It is a very useful all-in-one device which I am sure will continualy improve over time. We believe the Treo look is very popular and has set the standard for the all-in-one cell phone just as the Apple iPod has set the standard for mobile MP3 player.
