What is the Ideal Diamond? |
Diamonds with the highest characterisitcs are of course considered the IDEAL diamonds. For example, a diamond with a D color, Ideal Cut, IF (Internally Flawless) clarity, biggest carat, is considered the IDEAL. However this type of diamond is very RARE or almost non existent.
Even the most unique diamond is bound to have some flaws here and there.
Therefore the ideal diamond question is a relative questions. It all depends on your budget and personal choice. The most popular diamond remains to be the Round Brilliand Cut diamond. They are the top selling diamond shape, followed by the princess cut.
In the diamond industry, the word "IDEAL" also refers to a diamond "IDEAL CUT" which means that the light reflection of the diamond is near perfect. This measurement is usualy determined by the diamond's symmetry. If a diamond symmetry is good, the light coming from above the diamond (table) into the diamond will be reflected back giving the effect of a very bright and shinny diamond. |
