These diamonds may also have unique shape to them, or unique color, such as the Hope Diamond.
The Hope Diamond is considered to be one of the Most Rare and Extreme Diamond. Why is the Hope Diamond considered to be one of the most unique diamond?
The Hope diamond legacy began when a French traveller named Jean Baptiste Tavernier purchased a 112 3/16 carat diamond. The carat itself is a staggering size. The diamond was from Kollur mine in Golconda, India. Its shape was triangular and beautifully cut. Most people describe the Hope Diamond as Violet Blue or Intensely Sparkly Royal French Blue diamond.
It was eventually sold to King Louis XIV of France in 1668. In 1673 the stone was recut by Sieur Pitau, the court jeweler, resulting in a 67 1/8 carat stone. The King always wore this blue diamond, which was mounted in gold on every important ceremonial occassions. From there on the Hope Diamond was re sold to important figures and some mystery surrounded the Hope Diamond; many believed the Hope Diamond has a Curse attached to it.
However, the size and sheer beauty of the Hope Diamond itself sets it apart from other diamonds, making the Hope Diamond the most famouse diamond in the world.
It is now displayed in the Smithsonian Institute and routinely loaned to other famous museums for showcase.
